Work in a dynamic healthcare environment in collaboration with the Workplace Health Team. You are responsible for the support, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of Fraser Health Violence Prevention Program initiatives.

Build on your career experience as you:

  • Work in a multidisciplinary health and safety team to support best practices in creating and maintaining a healthy and safe workplace.
  • Assist Violence Prevention program development including policies, work procedures, education & training, risk identification and assessment procedures, communication of risk, reporting, and documenting of aggressive incidents.
  • Facilitate Violence Prevention education programs, including risk specific curriculums for acute care, community and residential programs.
  • Conduct Violence Prevention Risk Assessments across Fraser Health departments.
  • Provide clinical leadership for the Violence Prevention program and assist departments in troubleshooting specific issues related to aggressive behaviour.
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthrelated discipline and a professional designation inclusive of specialized training in occupational health & safety from a recognized educational institution.
  • Recent 35 years of progressive health and safety experience in a large complex organization and working knowledge of violence prevention programs.
  • Valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for businessrelated purposes.

Detailed Overview:

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:

Reporting to the Leader, Regional Initiatives, Workplace Health, the Client Partner, Violence Prevention is responsible for assisting with Violence Prevention program development including implementation and evaluation of the Violence Prevention program across Fraser Health.


Responsibilities:

  • Assists Violence Prevention program development including policies, work procedures, education & training, risk identification and assessment procedures, communication of risk and reporting and documenting of aggressive incidents.
  • Responsible for the development and facilitation of various Violence Prevention education programs including risk specific curriculums for acute care, community and residential programs.
  • Provides clinical leadership for the Violence Prevention program and assists departments in troubleshooting specific issues related to aggressive behaviour.
  • Provides leadership and development of reporting and audit systems to monitor the ongoing effectiveness of the goals and objectives of the Violence Prevention program.
  • Develops a communication strategy to ensure success of Violence Prevention program objectives.
  • Presents documented results to Fraser Health Regional Violence Prevention Committee on the progress and outcomes of Violence Prevention program initiatives.
  • Develops timelines and makes recommendations of budget for Violence Prevention program activities.
  • Liaises with department managers, supervisors, staff and external agencies such as WorkSafe BC.

Education and Experience
