Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Suncorp Valuations Full time
ALBERTA, BRITISH COLUMBIA or SASKATCHEWAN

At Suncorp Valuations, everything we do is designed to achieve our Customer Brand Promise of ON TIME, CREDIBLE, and PROFESSIONAL.

For over 60 years we have earned our clients' trust by consistently meeting their expectations. We do this by hiring the very best employees and providing them with performance based rewards, the tools to do their job, and a culture built on respect and collaboration; they do the rest

We are currently recruiting a high performing risk management professional for a permanent full-time role.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

In collaboration with the Manager, you will conduct data collection and site inspections, which will provide the information needed to support the completion of risk management reports and consulting for clients.

This involves data consisting primarily of building, machinery and equipment component details, potential risks related to fire, crime and liability or accidents and photographs.

The data is used to generate reports that aim to help clients reduce the potential for losses that may be caused through injury, criminal activity or physical hazards by recommending a course of action to reduce the frequency or severity of losses.

This is a home-based position based in either Alberta, British Columbia, or Saskatchewan and requires 30-40% travel in Western Canada and with potential for national travel.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You are curious, with a desire to drive results and exceed goals with an interest in the risk and/or appraisal industry.

You are looking to learn and grow your career with a dynamic globally-oriented organization. You are self-directed and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You enjoy building and maintaining positive and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You are naturally client-focused and committed to providing high levels of service to meet our brand promise of ON TIME, CREDIBLE, and PROFESSIONAL.

You are adaptive with prioritization and time management skills and can easily manage multiple projects and have strong attention to detail.

You are able and willing to travel regionally and occasionally nationally, have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.

You have the following credentials:

  • Full proficiency in reading, writing, and oral interactions in English. Proficiency in additional language(s) is an asset;
  • Postsecondary education is preferred;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office and databases;
  • Understanding of common commercial building structures;
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards and relevant fire and building codes is an asset;
  • Specialized skills in trades or fire protection and prevention fields are considered assets;
  • Canadian Certified Playground Inspector (CCPI) designation is an asset; and
  • A combination of education, knowledge and experience will be considered.
WHY WORK FOR US?
Suncorp starts your training and development on day one.

We are with you every step of the way in your career, whether it is as a Professional Appraiser or in one of our highly valued support staff roles.

We encourage you to pursue certification and provide the means to do it. We utilize the latest technology to provide you with the tools to succeed. Your efforts are rewarded with performance based rewards, great benefits, and flexible work arrangements. Most importantly, you will be surrounded by highly supportive colleagues at every level of the organization.

WHO WE ARE
At Suncorp, "Our Business is Value".

Because we have been appraising fixed assets for over 60 years, we have become experts in tracking their value over time.

Because we know what can go wrong, we can help clients manage risk and avoid losses associated with their property including liability and reputational risk, and because we understand replacement and repair costs, we can prepare Reserve Fund Studies and Depreciation Reports to assist clients in planning for the future.

Simply put, we provide Appraisal, Valuation, Risk Management, and Asset Advisory Services on a global basis that help clients to determine assets' replacement cost, mitigate loss, and track everything and its value over time.

We are focused on significant growth in our market. Are you someone who can help us get there?

We thank all applicants for their interest in this position, however, only those selected for interviews will be contacted.
