Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a temporary Cafeteria Steward of the Commercial Foods Program at Salisbury Composite High.

Commencing ASAP

Ending June 18, 2024

40 hours per week (Monday to Friday - 8 hours per day, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm)

Open to Internal and external applicants.

Salisbury Composite High serves approximately 1,440 students in grades 10 to 12, with 65 teaching staff and 22 support staff.

The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the entire kitchen and it's equipment

Laundry throughout the day to ensure clean aprons and clothes

Assist in the daily set up and tear down of stations and work areas

Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the storeroom, coolers and freezer

Assist with inventory of tools, equipment, chemicals and supplies

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education

High School Diploma

Experience

One (1) year experience in a high volume restaurant or bar would be an asset

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTITUDES

• In good health and physical fitness. Able to bend, reach and lift continuously.
• Able to stay on feet and move quickly for extended periods.
• Understanding of WHIMIS and proper handling of chemical cleaners an asset.
• Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out given tasks with all details necessary to complete the task well. Excellent organizational skills.
• Team Player: good oral communication skills. The ability to take direction and willingness to learn. Flexibility and calm under pressure.
• Dedicated: Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty and integrity. Respects the confidentiality and personal integrity of students, parents, and staff.
• Interpersonal skills especially patience & tolerance of others.
