MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a layout and plan the sequence of work to be done
  • Lay out plate, sheet steel, or other heavy metal, and locate, mark bending, and cutting lines
  • Cut metal plate and brackets using an oxyfuel torch, and chip and grind parts to shape for fit up
  • Fit and tack weld components together
  • Experience in Alberta oil and gas industry an asset to position

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Valid Red Seal or Journeyman / Apprentice Certificate (Trade credential must be recognized in Alberta)
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self or others
  • Perform heavy maintenance work, involving climbing, rigging, and exposure to high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems in accordance with all company safety procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Demonstrate practical problem solving ability
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Experience in tower repairs. (internal tray maintenance)
  • Confined space entry for vessel work a requirement. Training available
  • Close quarter working inside various equipment
  • Ability to work with full face respirator
