The Division of Geriatric Psychiatry, Island Health, is looking for a **part-time to full-time Geriatric Psychiatrist** to serve the aging population of the Oceanside area.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with the **Multidisciplinary Geriatric Specialty Services Team**, which includes Geriatric Medicine, Nursing, Social Work, and Occupational Therapy.
Operating from the modern Oceanside Health Center in Parksville, the role involves organizing outpatient, outreach, and long-term care facility consultations efficiently.
Exciting opportunities for **medical education** and **leadership** are also available for interested professionals.
VIHA provides **office space, administrative support, telephone, fax, and email** at no cost. The office space will be shared among team members.
Additional incentives, subject to eligibility requirements under RSA, may comprise:
  • Recruitment Incentive: $10,000
  • Flat fee: $6,334.20
  • Fee Premium of 6.3%
  • CME Year 3-4 $3,000 annum to a maximum of $6,000 (over 4 years in the community)

Requirements:
  • Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC)
  • FRCPC Certification
  • Eligibility for Canadian Association of Geriatric Psychiatry membership (mandatory)
  • Experience in collaborative, community Psychogeriatric care
  • Subspecialty qualification in Geriatric Psychiatry
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
