Position:
DIGITAL INCLUSION COORDINATOR
Hours of Work:
6 hours per day, 4 days per week. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Role Summary
The Lower Mainland Purpose Society is looking for a Coordinator to coordinate the New Westminster Digital Inclusion Project.
The project aims to promote digital inclusion across diverse community groups through the following three pillars:
a) device availability; b) Internet access; c) engagement, education, and training.
The Project Coordinator will work with community partners and Program Ambassadors to continue to establish, implement, and evaluate the Digital Inclusion Project.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Consult with community partners
- Develop simple evaluation tools and collect participant responses
- Design promotional material and marketing tools to advertise program broadly
- Establish dropin hours, and coordinate oneonone digital learning sessions
- Respond to program inquiries and build community relationships
- Work in partnership with existing ITbased programs to provide comprehensive services
- Oversee and maintain website functionality
- Collaborate with other organizations on projects and events relevant to the overall goals of the CAT program
Qualifications
- Education, or equivalent experience providing accessible IT services
- Current knowledge of the local street community, community resources, and knowledge of cultural norms related to drug use and homelessness considered an asset
- Graphic, video, and website design skills considered assets
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible Intern participants must meet the following criteria:
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada;
- Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada; as well as;
- Must not be in receipt of employment benefits (EI/CERB) during the internship
