Community Support Worker

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Forensic Psychological Services Full time

This position involves providing practical life skill training, mentoring, support, crisis intervention and risk management services to clients in treatment at our practice.

Clients include adults and youth, males and females, and special need populations, all of which have been in conflict with the law or are at risk of being in conflict with the law.

IT IS AN ASSET IF YOU HAVE:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • A driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Familiarity with Indigenous culture and traditional lifestyles.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Be comfortable working with challenging clients in a community setting, including those who have been identified as having risk factors of concern, high needs and who may live with mental health disorders and struggle with addictions.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, responsibility and personal/professional integrity.
  • Have skills and experience related to crisis management, conflict resolution and general counselling.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Have strong time management and organizational skills including the ability to manage a caseload and schedule appointments with clients.
