As an Accounts Receivable Representative, your main responsibilities will include securing revenue generated by the sales team, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring positive interactions to foster lasting connections with customers. Key responsibilities:

  • Contacting business-to-business (B2B) customers via phone/email/fax to address outstanding invoices and billing queries (with a strong emphasis on phone communication).
  • Managing a collections portfolio specific to Canadian and/or US accounts, with a target of approximately 40 customer interactions per day through emails and calls. Negotiating customer payment terms as necessary to maximize revenue recovery.
  • Cultivating and maintaining customer relationships, and advocating Softchoice's receivable policy.
  • Handling overdue hold requests within the stipulated service level agreement, assessing customer accounts, authorizing orders up to 50K, and providing recommendations for requests exceeding 50K.
  • Collaborating with internal sales representatives to troubleshoot payment issues promptly (e.g., invoicing discrepancies, pricing matters).
  • Documenting and monitoring collections activities based on monthly aging reports.
  • Working towards individual and departmental monthly accounts receivable targets.
  • Regularly reconciling accounts and demonstrating success in a team-oriented setting.
  • Adapting to a fast-paced IT sales environment and remaining flexible.

What we require from you:

  • A completed college diploma (preferably in Accounting or Finance) or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-3 years of corporate (B2B) collections experience focusing on medium to enterprise-level clients.
  • Proficiency in Accounts Receivable escalation processes and proactively resolving account issues in coordination with sales teams.
  • A solid grasp of fundamental accounting principles and intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities and previous experience in managing account portfolios.
  • A customer-centric approach and familiarity with the technology industry.

Fluency in English is a minimum requirement for this role, as daily interaction with English-speaking colleagues and clients outside Quebec is essential.
