About the MNjcc:

The Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre is a dynamic hub in downtown Toronto.

It provides opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to be active, learn, connect and participate in a wide range of cultural experiences.

Rooted in Jewish values, the MNjcc is open to all.


Founded on this site in 1953 the MNjcc is home to a state of the art Fitness Centre, the Al Green Theatre, four schools, four choirs, a wide range of arts and cultural activities, Jewish Life programming, and a robust Active 55+ program.

It is a founding member of the Bloor Street Cultural Corridor.

Short Description of the Position:


Working in the Early Childhood Education department, the After School Program Staff is responsible for program planning and facilitating an engaging and safe program for children aged 4-12.

The program operates daily between the hours of 3-6 pm.

Schedule:

  • The program runs from Sept 6th
  • June 29th Mon-Friday (flexibility with days worked)
  • Shifts will be scheduled between the hours of 3pm6pm with the occasion early arrival time of 2pm

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the children in the program.
  • Create and deliver ageappropriate programming taking into account varying levels and abilities of children in the program.
  • Come prepared for the day's activities.
  • Provide assistance to fellow staff as needed.
  • Supervise children in the program indoors and outdoors; actively engage with them.
  • Assist in conducting surveys for periodic program evaluation.
  • Required to interact with team members to inform of them any updates or incidents.
  • Will be interacting with parents daily during dismissal times.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must have 25 years' experience working with children
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (6 months prior to hire)
  • Up to date Immunization Record (Tetanus, TB screening)
  • Please note that full vaccination against covid19 (or valid accommodation) is currently required to work inperson at the MNjcc at this time.

Salary and Benefits:

- $15.50/hr
