About this role
We are recruiting for an experienced
Communications Specialist to join our dynamic marketing team at our Burnaby Head office.

Working closely with the Director, Marketing & Communications, you will play a key role in guiding the development and delivery of our strategic communications initiatives to drive brand awareness, engage target audiences, and support business growth.

Your responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of organization's employee communications strategy, craft compelling intranet content, and assist leadership team with employee engagement activities
  • Create and manage internal and external campaigns that amplify and drive engagement through dynamic content, training, and multimedia materials for all communication channels
  • Play a key role in shaping and implementing internal corporate strategies and tools to enhance effectiveness, champion cultural initiatives, and ensure consistency across all offices and job sites
  • Maintain a strong brand voice to enhance organization's messages and drive standards to ensure all corporate content aligns brand goals
  • Copyedit and proofread communications, lead reviews and coordinate approvals
  • Monitor and measure the success of communications initiatives and prepare regular reporting to share insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Leverage experience, expertise, and leadership skills to guide and mentor team members

Your experience and skills

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, creative writing or related field
  • 5+ years of experience working in communications, or related fields
  • Creative communicator driven to explore new approaches and consistently raise the bar
  • Exceptional copywriting skills and demonstrated experience tailoring content for audiences and various marketing channels
  • Experience with video planning and editing is a plus

Preferred Skills

  • Good knowledge and understanding of communication principles, strategies, and tactics
  • Meticulous attention to detail, coupled with strong critical thinking, and problemsolving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate with all levels of an organization and diverse business units
  • Tech savvy and resourceful, with experience creating content for digital platforms, including web and social media. Demonstrated proficiency in Office 365, Adobe Creative Cloud and multimedia platforms
  • Presents sound, professional judgment, strong work ethic, and a positive customerservice attitude
  • Collaborative team player with experience fostering an environment of growth and development
