Dawson College is centrally located at Atwater metro (green line). There are several bus routes that service the area. In addition, Dawson is right next to a bike path, if that is your preferred method to commute.

NATURE OF THE WORK AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Academic Dean, the Dean of Social Science and Business Technologies is responsible for ensuring academic excellence in the sector. The sector comprises programs in Social Science and Business Technologies. They provide leadership and support for the management of programs and departments of the sector. The Dean is responsible for the management of programs, departments, learning activities, budgets, and personnel within the sector and is a part of the leadership team at the college level.

Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: An undergraduate degree in an appropriate specialization and minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience, preferably including at least three (3) years are in a post-secondary teaching experience.

  3. Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills
  4. Excellent organizational skills
  5. Ability to exercise good judgment with excellent analytical, critical-thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  6. Demonstrated ability in managing a significant budget and working with complex financial systems

  8. Conflict-resolution, negotiation, and advocacy skills
  9. Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed and team environment
  10. An open, collegial, and collaborative management style
  11. Ability to be proactive and anticipate needs and future trends
  12. Excellent English language skills (oral and written)
  13. Very good French language skills (oral and written)
  14. Knowledge of MS Office Suite
  15. Managerial experience considered an asset
