Mineral Land Administrator

The Opportunity:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Timely input and verification of mineral data to the land system for acquisition and disposition of Crown and Freehold leases as well as issuance of leases from CNRL owned titles
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders (Exploration/Operations teams, Accounting, Partners and applicable Provincial regulatory departments)
  • Promptly responding to internal and external accounting and audit queries
  • Entering and following up on obligations related to day to day area administration within the Land system
  • Review of acquisition files with assigned deadlines
  • Assisting with special projects as required support to Area Negotiators on identified projects

Shift schedule: 5x
  • Monday to Friday

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible Mineral Land Administration experience with a Petroleum Land Administration certificate or related post secondary education
  • Experience with:
  • Alberta Crown Regulations
  • Navigating Alberta Crown ETS
  • Alberta Land Titles Spin II, Title Searches, Caveat Registrations/withdrawals, etc.
  • Flexible, adaptable to change and have strong time management and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude toward a high volume of work with multiple deadlines
  • Working knowledge:
  • Alberta Crown Agreements, Expiries, Continuations, Surrenders, Offsets, etc.
  • Freehold leases, understanding lease terms and the requirements of such terms. Managing offsets, lease assignments, estate issues, caveat registration and withdrawal, etc.
  • Knowledge of Title/Headlease/Sublease relationships
