This role is part of retail technology leadership team accountable for the strategy, engineering, and delivery of technology to enable educator and guest transactions and experiences through Payments, and Fraud Protection Technologies.

A day in the life:


As Technology Manager, you are a leader responsible for leading the global POS technology team with accountability for software development scoped to business-transformative projects by being involved in projects from inception through implementation.

You are a leader on the team doing exciting and innovative work as we bring omni transactional experience for our guest to life.


You are a leader who is comfortable leading and managing team members with different skill sets and can communicate expectations clearly to all team members.

In addition to strong management skills, you act as a leader for the technical roadmap for your team and can communicate timeline, scope and risks to partners and stakeholders, and lead the delivery of major initiatives.

This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate, and make tradeoffs and balance business needs versus technical constraints.

Maturity, curiosity, creative problem solving, and team leadership are all essential for success in this role.

You also bring your experience, ideas, and initiatives to influence and drive change to support our growth and scaling.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Managing process, people, and timeline to ensure that high quality deliverables are produced.
  • Ensuring the right skills are being used to solve the right problems by supporting the team with empathetic coaching, skills development, and career path leadership.
  • Ensuring team produces software that meets business and technology requirements which is resilient, monitorable, performant, and maintainable.
  • Leading and developing a team responsible for payment experience in stores and for digital channel by partnering with internal business stakeholders to understand key performance metrics, review operating practices, and understand payment regulations/procedures to determine where improvements can be made, and work to implement changes, as needed.
  • Driving and managing payment device hardware lifecycle, replacement programs, and supply chain health in close collaboration with third party providers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience CS/CIS, finance, business administration, or other related field
  • 8+ years of experience in information technology with direct working experience leading complex, global technology initiatives
  • 5+ years of experience leading in a product centric delivery environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing $2M+ technology delivery projects
  • Experience in developing objectoriented development frameworks within Agile/Scrum, and waterfall environments
  • Experience in leading development using Core Java, J2EE and microservices framework
  • 5+ years of experience & working knowledge of AWS Services (AWS Docker ECS, AWS Application load balancer, S3) is a must have.
  • Prior POS experience desirable
  • Experience managing budgets and conducting regular forecasting
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, written, interpersonal and listening skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills including collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation
