Overview:

Responsibilities:

The Roles
We are currently seeking skilled and experienced individuals to join the Lafarge team at Westridge in the roles of:

Gravel Truck Driver:

  • Safely operate a gravel truck to transport materials, including gravel, sand, and other construction aggregates, to and from job sites.
  • Adhere to all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving the truck.
  • Conduct pretrip and posttrip inspections of the truck to ensure its safe and efficient operation.
  • Load and secure materials onto the truck, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure fastening.
  • Unload materials at designated locations, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including time logs, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle malfunctions promptly to the supervisor.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on the truck, such as checking oil levels, tire pressure, and cleaning the vehicle regularly.

Loader Operator:

  • Operate a loader to load materials onto trucks, stockpiles, or other designated areas as per project requirements.
  • Safely maneuver the loader, taking into account the surrounding environment, obstacles, and other personnel on the site.
  • Ensure proper functioning of the loader by conducting routine inspections and promptly reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns.
  • Monitor and control the flow of materials to prevent overloading or spillage during loading operations.
  • Follow loading plans and instructions provided by supervisors or project managers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the loading area, including the proper disposal of debris and waste materials.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow and coordinate loading activities with truck drivers and other equipment operators.

Qualifications:

Gravel Truck Driver:

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a gravel truck driver, preferably in a construction, mining or similar environment.
  • Solid understanding of traffic rules, regulations, and safe driving practices.
  • Knowledge of proper equipment maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other personnel on the job site.
  • Physical stamina to withstand long hours of driving and operating equipment in varying weather conditions.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Loader Operator:

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
