Your Opportunity:

This position works in the Diagnostic Imaging department at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary. The Diagnostic Imaging Registered Nurse (RN) works in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, multi-modality environment. Responsibilities are to educate and prepare patients undergoing a variety of Diagnostic Imaging Procedures. The nurse works collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to evaluate the patient's condition and care while in the Diagnostic Imaging Department. This position will share equally in any shift, weekend, or on-call responsibilities that may be expected. As well, works collaboratively with radiologists and technologists to monitor and provide care during these procedures. Reviews patient history for pertinent information. Provides patient with pre- and post-procedural information. Identifies patients at risk by obtaining clinical history prior to contrast media consent by patient/guardian. Provides forthe patient's comfort, safety and privacy during their stay in the DI Department. Assesses patient's status against procedural sedation/general anesthesia discharge criteria / arranges transfer if necessary. Monitors, through assessment data, the ongoing health status of the patient and family, recognizes deviations in health care needs and adjusts the plan of care accordingly. Provides discharge information to patients when necessary. Assists in emergency situations. Participates in completing all data/information sheets as required. Provides post procedure report to Patient Care Unit when applicable.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $ - $ Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article or (ii) as applicable. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (

Additional Required Qualifications:

Previous recent and relevant experience in Diagnostic imaging interventional and angiography procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
