Position Summary:

As a skilled Support Worker, you will provide one-to-one support to individuals in their home and in the community.

You will be responsible for supporting individuals with complex medical needs by assisting with personal care, G-J tubes, suctioning care, monitoring of seizures disorders, diabetic support, and medication administration.

You will be under the Supervision of a PHSS Coordinator who, along with the family, will assist you through training and ongoing support throughout your role.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a family home, take direction from family and work independently
  • Previous complex medical experience is required
  • Reliable, punctual, and confident
  • Must have current First Aid & CPR and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Excellent verbal, written, and nonverbal communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Must be respectful and maintain confidentially
  • Creativity in assisting with community engagement, and planning meaningful activities.
  • Full G driver's license, and a clear drivers abstract required
  • DSW, PSW, nursing, and/or related education
- _COVID-19 Vaccination is required (two doses of Public Health Ontario approved vaccinations)_


PHSS has a mandatory COVID Vaccination Policy and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must while working in close proximity to person-supported.

PHSS will provided your PPE to you as needed.

Salary:
$25.54/hr
