Job Status
Full time Permanent (30 hours/week)

The Grant Writer will aid and support National Zakat Foundation (NZF) with grant and loan funding.

Duties include writing, editing, and submitting grants, preparing reports, understanding funding needs, ensuring compliance with funding requirements are met and provide assistance to reporting manager as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, write, prepare, and submit strong grant proposals
  • Write approximately 5 grants a month
  • Manage grant calendar and deadlines
  • Provide timely reports to grantors
  • Point of contact for existing grants and funding partnerships
  • Ensure grant, donor and gift information are up to date and accurate

Qualifications/Experiences:

  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Appropriate computer skills; extensive experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to research and understand documentation
  • Comfort with independent work while also maintaining good working relationship with teammates
  • Clear criminal record check
  • Experience with grant writing and/or fundraising is an asset.
