Position Overview:


Risk Analyst, Treasury Services is responsible for executing and facilitating prescribed procedures and initiatives to support and monitor the day to day risk activities in the Capital Markets environment to ensure compliance to internal and external regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Conducts daily review and analysis of Bloomberg Asset & Investment Manager (AIM) compliance system to ensure alignment with compliance requirements/assess risk factors in the Treasury and Cash Collateral Reinvestment portfolios.
  • Oversees daily compliance monitoring and reporting of broker credit limits and credit usage of each of the borrowers in the Securities Lending program.
  • Advises on credit reviews, providing analysis on borrowers and trading projections on sufficiency of credit lines for all the securities lending counterparties. Will respond directly to requests for increases in notional limits by the traders and liaise with Corporate Risk to obtain credit limit increases
  • Maintains the system operations administrative and security functions in Bloomberg while collaborating with Legal to ensure legal agreements and authorized documentation are obtained from BU managers to support counterparty setup.
  • Oversees the activities of adding new borrowers to the Securities Lending program and setup new borrowers with the Triparty agents.
  • Monitors compliancerelated activity of collateral in the securities lending program. Monitoring consists of confirming the collateral has been approved on the acceptable collateral list, are within the authorized limits, are appropriately diversified and above the required collateral margins. Any breaches are identified and reported to Securities Lending Operations for resolution.
  • Compiles and delivers requested relevant information and data to auditors (KPMG, and Internal Audit)
  • Completes ad hoc tasks include preparing data and analysis for ALCO presentations (model duration review, EaR and DV01 limit changes, stress tests, etc.) and ICAAP.

Qualifications:

  • University degree, with Chartered Financial Analyst program or Masters of Business Administration (attained or in progress)
  • 3 years or more related experience, including dealing experience in a trading environment
  • Knowledge of money and capital market instruments, practices and influencing market factors
  • Knowledge of corporate banking services and practices
  • Custody Management and Trust; accounting systems; Canadian Securities Course
