Senior Therapist

ABHS/The Discovery Centre is a growing organization which provides ABA therapy to children and youth in Oakville and the surrounding area.

We take pride in delivering high quality programming in a collaborative, supportive, and fun environment.

We are seeking a full-time senior therapist to fulfill 40hrs per week total on a 1-year contract with possibility to extend.

Reporting to the program managers, the senior therapist is responsible for overseeing clinical and administrative operations for children and youth receiving ABA services at both our clinic setting and in home/community settings.

Most work hours fall Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30 however, candidates must be able to adjust their schedules as needed to accommodate supervision/implementation of early evening or weekend sessions/group programming.

Responsibilities of ST include but are not limited to:

Clinical:

  • Administration and supervision of skills and behavioural assessments (e.g., VB MAPP, PEAK, ABLLS-R, AFLS, FBA, etc.)
  • Develop Individualized Service Plans as required under supervision of Supervising BCBAs
  • Write and supervise reports, programs, BSPs, Individual Service Plans, etc.
  • Supervise direct and indirect service delivery by instructor therapists including in-chair sessions in Centre/home/community, data collection, treatment integrity checks, upkeep of client records and materials, etc.
  • Train and supervise instructor therapists
  • Assist when needed in service delivery
  • Communicate and collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals as needed
  • Communicate with parents/caregivers according to review schedules and/or as needed
  • Conduct team meetings, ISP meetings, case conferences, etc.
  • Facilitate clinical supervision and monitor follow-up
  • Develop and supervise social skills programming
  • Participate in client intakes as needed
  • Participate in the development and delivery of staff workshops, parent training programs/workshops
  • Work collaboratively with the program managers, lead therapists, instructor therapists, and other stakeholders
Administrative

  • Scheduling: session schedules, team meetings, parent training sessions, consultations, etc.
  • Supervision of instructor therapists including day to day responsibilities, performance evaluations, supervision meetings, etc.
  • Oversee administrative operations across the clinic
  • Assistance in program developments related to OAP updates
  • Participate in hiring process for instructor therapists
  • Monitor schedule for client assessments and program updates
  • Assist in marketing, community engagement initiatives as needed
  • Follows standards, policies, and procedures set within the organization
Senior Therapist Qualifications

  • At least 3 years implementing ABA programming for children and youth
  • Experience supervising ABA programming and assessment for children and youth is an asset
  • Master's degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis or equivalent or working toward its completion
  • BCBA certification or pursuing certification
  • Experience implementing or supervising programming for individuals with significant support needs
  • Proven track record of clinical problem solving and program development
  • Excellent management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate and foster positivity and a collaborative approach across all clinical and administrative responsibilities
  • Adhere to all clinical and administrative policies and procedures
  • Remain in good standing with the BACB and maintain certification where appropriate
  • Participate in SMG crisis intervention training as required
  • Must have a valid license, first aid/CPR, Vulnerable Sector Screen

$30.00-$32.00 per hour
