Software Dev Manager III, Trusted Advisor

AWS Trusted Advisor defines the gold standard of "what good looks like" for applications built for cloud. Trusted Advisor captures over a decade of AWS expertise operating in the cloud in our AI-powered optimization engine. We proactively surface risks and opportunities for customers to improve their workloads' security, resilience, performance, cost, and operational excellence. We provide actionable guidance on how customers can address these risks and capture the opportunities. For customers who need hands-on guidance, Trusted Advisor directly connect them to AWS experts. The Trusted Advisor team is looking for a Software Development Leader to spearhead the next evolution of Trusted Advisor. This leader will evolve our AI-powered engine to uncover best practices not previously codified by humans, by leveraging the vast configuration and health insights available across AWS. This leader will drive the development of automation engines that resolve issues on customers' behalf with minimal human intervention, while implementing robust safety guardrails to protect customers from adverse impact on their businesses. Key job responsibilities
* Lead a team of 8-12 engineers in the development and operation of a tier 1 AWS service.
* Partner with Product Manager in roadmap planning cycles between one sprint and one year.
* Responsible for the entire software development lifecycle.
* Insist on high operational excellence while delivering results
* Develop individual contributor engineers' careers through growth conversations, performance coaching, and creating the right opportunities.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

The base salary for this position ranges from $171,400/year up to $286,200/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
