You will be required to join the Canadian Armed Forces Army Reserve to be employed in this position. General Information about the Canadian Army Reserve
The Canadian Army Reserve is intended to complement other fulltime employment or education opportunities that you may have.

All training is paid and cost associated with attending training courses, including all accommodations and meals, are covered by the Canadian Armed Forces.

As a Reservist with the Canadian Armed Forces, you do not sign a contract committing you to a fixed period of service.

Benefits of being an Army Reservist include: 100% medical coverage while on duty, a dental plan, and a pension plan.

Pay rates are based on a daily rate with annual increases, and increases with promotions.

We offer a Full Time Summer Employment program that will provide the successful applicant the opportunity to work on a salary basis starting 1 May to 31 Aug, or any part thereof.

They also perform construction and maintenance tasks, operate vehicles and equipment in support of engineer operations, and maintain field installations and facilities.

Construct and maintain roads, airfields, heliports, bridges, causeways, rafts, permanent and temporary buildings
Construct field defences and obstacles
Provide drinking water by testing, purifying and filtering local supplies and by constructing local distribution systems
Maintain and operate engineering equipment, including weapons, vehicles, heavy equipment and supplies

A corporal participating in Full Time Summer Employment from 1 May to 31 Aug can expect to be paid $21,450 for the term.
