Job Description:
Boom & Float Truck Operator

Boom & Float Truck Operators inspect, safely operate and perform minor maintenance on Boom and Float trucks.

The operators are responsible for successfully completing tasks by meeting or exceeding corporate and project goals for safety, quality, profitability and schedule, resulting in customer satisfaction.


  • Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties_
  • Operates Boom Truck and other equipment as required
  • Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with regulations, company policies and procedures. Along with manufactures specifications.
  • Performs equipment safety, maintenance checks and documents deficiencies.
  • Inspects, maintains and makes minor repairs as needed.
  • Takes action to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
  • Studies instructions, plans, and diagrams to establish work requirements.
  • Operates Boom & Float Trucks to move, load, or unload material and equipment
  • General/Other Responsibilities and Duties_
  • Drives machines onto trucks, trailers and performs other track maintenance duties as directed.
  • Keeps records of material and equipment usage and problems encountered.
  • There may be unplanned activities and other duties as assigned
  • The Boom Truck Operator also must be willing to work as a laborer as needed.
  • Job Qualifications_
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 years' experience operating a Boom Truck
  • Minimum 3 years' experience on heavy industrial sites
  • Rules (CROR, TIG, CWR) qualifications are an asset
  • Valid class 3 or D driver's license, AZ License with clean drivers abstract
  • Prequalification's requires security clearance background check through third party (E-Rail Safe)
  • Reliable, selfmotivated, able to work in a fastpaced environment, make decisions based on company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Physical/Travel/Attendance Requirements_
  • Works outdoors on various construction sites including elevated structures.
  • Frequently works in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Frequently travels and remains over night to accommodate remote sites
  • Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, and crouches.
  • Uses hands to operate equipment and tools.
  • Performs heavy physical labor; may lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposed to harsh weather conditions including extremely hot and extremely cold weather.
  • Exposed to loud noise, dust and fumes.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety boots, hard hats, reflectorized vest, hearing protection, gloves and other site/task specific PPE as required by the company.

Salary:
$40.00-$50.00 per hour
