They also manage certain province-wide health services and provide administrative support for health organizations in Manitoba.Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN)/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) (Home Care Services, Personal Care Home and/or Transitional Care) applies the nursing process to assist clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimal health within a people-centered approach in various healthcare settings. The RN/RPN works within their full scope of practice, engages in continuous education, and adheres to professional standards and ethics.

The role requires exercising judgment, setting work priorities, and following organizational policies in alignment with the mission and values of Southern Health-Santé Sud.Qualifications:

  • Current active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba/College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses and adherence to the scope of practice
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS), and Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC)
  • Knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
  • Ability to create a collaborative environment, resolve conflicts, and communicate effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, organizational abilities, and proficiency in both official languages for bilingual positions
  • Respect for diversity and cultural sensitivity, along with confidentiality and good work ethics
Conditions of Employment:

  • Completion and maintenance of Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Immunization is mandatory for all Health Care workers as per Southern Health-Santé Sud policy
