Our client in the food industry, is seeking to hire a Slitter Operator - Print Department (MUST HAVE A FORKLIFT LICENSE)

$21.00/hour

Position Summary
The position would consist of working within our production facility. You will operate our new finishing
rewind machinery while following Quality Control Specifications and inspecting material to ensure the
finished make-ready defect-free.


Your duties would include finishing larger press rolls of printed material and rewinding them to smaller rolls per customer requirements.

You will be responsible for preparing orders for the final QC Inspection. Other responsibilities will include ensuring your area is clean and well-maintained.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform Production, Inspection, Packaging and Machine Operation Duties
  • Set up Machinery to Job Specifications
  • Effectively Monitor Finish Production Equipment and Printed Material
  • Assist in the make-ready process by the Order and Product Specification documents.
  • Responsible for completing all required quality/SQF checks related to product specifications, and
visual, and functional checks.

  • May review shipping and receiving each day.
  • Ensure that Forklift pre-op is done daily and report any maintenance that is needed on the forklift
  • Coordinate with the group to ensure proper paperwork is submitted for all shipments including
cross-border shipping.

  • Accountable for the Safety of your surroundings or others that may come into the warehouse,
which includes Safe Stacking and Back of Dock.

  • Maintain a healthy teamwork environment, and assist all co-workers when required
  • Perform other duties and/ or responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
o High school education or OSSD required.
o Must be flexible during the peak season when required.
o 1-3 years prior experience in the printing industry preferred.
o Prior experience operating production machinery preferred.
o Forklift certification required. (and be able to provide proof)
