Join Our Team as a Night Float Worker

Are you prepared to create a significant impact in the lives of young individuals? Then this opportunity is for you. We are looking for a proactive individual to join our team as a Night Float Worker to collaborate with and offer support to staff in the group living setting. The Night Float Worker handles overnight support services including safety checks for buildings and grounds and assists participants. Reporting critical incidents, system failures, and policy violations during shifts is also part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and Professional Certification

  • Completion of a high school diploma.
  • Possession of a certificate, diploma, or degree in child and youth care (CYC) or a relevant field is advantageous.
Experience
  • One (1) year experience working with children, youth, and/or adults facing behavioral, cognitive, mental health, and/or developmental challenges.
  • Experience with night shifts is beneficial.

Duties and Responsibilities

Services
  • Collaborate with and support the residential team.
  • Engage and actively participate with the participants.
  • Conduct environmental safety checks and maintenance for units and grounds.
  • Uphold agency priorities for unit supervision as per participant needs.
  • Provide care and assistance to individuals with various needs such as behavioral issues, developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, and related challenges.
  • Aid in morning routines and activity plans.
  • Follow established AWOL procedures as necessary.
  • Report system or procedural failures and policy violations to supervisors.
  • Handle conflicts and respond to crises using behavioral management strategies including conflict resolution and crisis management.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation within agency standards.
  • Carry out other assigned duties.
Leadership
  • Offer support and guidance to employees as directed.
  • Demonstrate positive role modeling, agency values, and fairness.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the multidisciplinary team when needed.
Management of Resources
  • Conduct nightly inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs.
  • Submit receipts and manage expenses for approved expenditures.
  • Ensure accurate completion of the vehicle log when using agency vehicles.
Safety
  • Promote and uphold safe work habits, practices, and procedures.
  • Adhere to agency and government regulations, policies, and instructions.

Additional Requirements

The chosen candidate must complete all mandatory training as per agency policies.

Employees must possess a class five (5) novice two (2) or higher driver's license and be eligible for coverage under our commercial auto insurance policy.

The wage range for this role is $23.62 to $30.54 per hour.
