This
Project Manager is integral to the success of the
Project Management Office team, and to CAAT's guiding mission and growth strategy.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the management of major complex projects within the Operational Project Management Office. The priority will be to properly integrate projects and to ensure successful delivery by both internal and external teams.

This role assists Directors in steering projects, and in managing the project triple constraints and risks for major projects such as Service Delivery, member experience and business systems changes.


We are looking for someone with:

  • A University or College Degree in business or business information systems and PMP designation or equivalent combination of qualifications. Program manager training and certification desirable.
  • Five (5) or more years of leading projects of medium to large complex business project/program delivery.
  • Five (5) years of successfully managing high risk projects such as coordinating multiple vendors, financial impact to corporate strategy, introduction of new business models and more.
  • Experience in leading diverse teams with success outcomes.
  • A strong track record of project/program delivery within the pension, insurance, or financial industry.
  • A strong foundation in crossfunctional, integrated, and multi streamed project delivery.
  • A complementary blend of business, IT, and financial acumen to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
  • A good understanding of current and emerging technologies in the industry.
  • Knowledge of project management methodology and experience or familiarity with major, defined program management approaches (for example, that of the Project Management Institute or PRINCE2 and agile approaches).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; expertise in setting and managing customer expectations.
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills to effectively lead teams.

Once here you will:

  • Will provide strong planning and leadership to help direct a program of special projects and ensure they are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Partner with business project leads and internal/external stakeholders to develop project scope, estimate resources, and execute project plans to deliver on approved scope, budget, and strategy.
  • Analyse project proposals to determine a time frame, funding limitations and appropriate processes for accomplishing projects.
  • Benchmark project management performance continuously to identify the potential for improvements and increase capability in project and portfolio management.
