Toronto, Ontario, Canada Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club Full time

Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Director of Facilities as a part of the Club's Facilities team, this position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Club's infrastructure and to maintain high service standards for Activity related maintenance.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic maintenance on Club infrastructure systems as directed by Facilities Supervisor
  • Record/log boilers and Ice plant data; including but not limited to ice conditions, ice temperatures, ice thickness, air quality and permafrost as required
  • Perform additional maintenance including but not limited too shaving of the exterior of the ice, changing the blade on the Olympia, oil changes, and other inspections
  • Maintain turf on Cricket field, Cricket Square, Croquet Swards, Lawn Bowling, and Club exterior
  • Maintain all landscaping on the Club exterior, including tennis courts/clay tennis courts.
  • Ensure all equipment is well kept, maintained, and cleaned
  • Set up/take down Cricket, Croquet & Lawn Bowling elements required for play
  • Assist with seasonal transitions from Curling to Basketball
  • Monitor the pool and mechanical equipment as per the opening/closing checklist
  • Ensure pool vacuum is maintained and in good operating condition
  • Responsible for safe use and containment of hazardous goods and materials as per MSDS training
  • In accordance with refrigeration and boilers.
  • Responsible for taking action to secure the safety of others and, in a backup capacity, responding to crisis situations where the safety of others may be at risk
  • Works in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act and follows Club health & safety policies and procedures
  • Uses personal protective equipment and clothing as directed by the Club
  • Reports any workplace hazards and dangers to the Facility Supervisor
  • Know all emergency procedures and being able to respond accordingly and assists the Club by reporting any unusual activities or individuals to the Manager on Duty.
  • Report all mechanical issues to Facilities Supervisor
  • Reads, understanding and abides by the Club policies and department procedures
  • Other duties as directed

Qualifications:

  • Completion of high school or equivalent required; BES I Certificate; or 4th or 3rd class Operating Engineer; or provincial trades certification of qualification is an asset.
  • A minimum three years of building operating and industry experience required
  • Completion of/or promise of completion CPO designation required.


 Completion Exterminator
  • Landscape license required
  • Standard First Aid and CPR/AED certification required.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Excellent mathematical and problemsolving skills.
  • Must have basic skills in Refrigeration and working level skills in office equipment operation.
  • Working level skills in reading and writing to communicate information.
  • Working knowledge in smart phone use as well as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
