Hiring Experienced Concrete FinisherJob Description

We are in search of two experienced concrete finishers to join a fast-growing concrete formwork company. The successful candidates will be required to perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor for concrete projects, including preparing job sites, digging trenches, and setting braces to support formwork. In addition, they will be responsible for understanding and executing concrete procedures to meet project specifications, setting forms that hold concrete in place, and pouring, smoothing, and leveling concrete. This role may require long hours and occasional overnight shifts to meet project deadlines. Some out-of-town work is expected, but the majority of projects will be located in town.

SCHEDULE:

Start Time 7:00 am

End Time: 5:00 pm *Overtime during the season is VERY COMMON. Applicants must be willing to work 50-60 hours per week.

OVERTIME

50-60 total hours per week is common during the busy season. Overtime is accumulated after 8 hours in a given day or 44 hours in a given week.

Hard Skills
  • 4+ years of experience in concrete finishing
  • WHMIS and CSTS certification
  • Experience in pulling screed, running a float, and cutting joints
  • Experience with flat work
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and lift up to 50 pounds
Soft Skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Adaptability to various project sizes
  • Willingness to work overtime as required
Work Site

This is a fully on-site position.

Work Environment

Candidates will be expected to work in a team as small as 2 or as large as 20 or more, reporting to the site foreman. The work environment will primarily be outdoors, and candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions that permit the pouring of concrete. Physical demands include frequent standing, occasional climbing or balancing, and the ability to push, pull, move, and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Candidates must also be able to climb and descend a flight of stairs as needed.
