GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, the incumbent will be responsible for the processing and controls of financial transactions. The Accounting Clerk supports the organization by maintaining the day to day integrity of the company's financial information.

The Accounting Clerk will have established relationships primarily in a supporting role with Branch and Department Managers, Vendors and Central 1.

Primary

Responsibilities:

Sales Support:

  • Accounts payable support.
  • Respond to branch inquiries and investigations as required.

Operations:

  • The review and process of all financial transactions.
  • General ledger and bank account postings.
  • Bank and account reconciliation's with attention to Central 1 Bank reconciliation.
  • Account Analysis.
  • Month-end and Year-end Activities.
  • Reporting.
  • Departmental filing, maintaining financial records, and other administrative activities.
  • Various GL balancing (dormant and deferred accounts)
  • Other sundry duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping
  • Word, Excel and spreadsheet knowledge

  • Ability to understand and prepare various reconciliations (bank, account etc.)
  • Ability to understand and interpret vendor invoices, statements and other requests for payment.
  • Ability to process data and to format and generate reports
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
