The OpportunityThe Department of Accounting & Finance in the School of Business invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2023 (or sooner, depending on availability), subject to final budgetary approval. Your focus will be to continue your scholarly work in an area of accounting, and teach in an area of accounting, tax, auditing, or information systems.
You likely have expertise in one of the following areas:
- Information systems and data analytics,
- Advanced financial accounting and accounting standards,
- Public sector and not-for-profit accounting, or
- Auditing.
You likely have evidence of effective teaching of courses at the undergraduate level, and a record of scholarly work in the field. Experience in industry, government or not-for-profit organizations is an asset.
You have a Ph.D. or equivalent, or are nearing the completion of your doctorate, from an accredited institution. In addition, you are certified as a CPA or are willing and able to obtain a Canadian CPA designation in the first three years.
You should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a teaching dossier (including your teaching philosophy and recent teaching evaluations), a statement of research interests, and a sample of your research work. In your application, please provide the names of three referees. If you are shortlisted, we will ask for detailed references from your referees and for academic transcripts from the institutions where you completed your degrees.
A review of applications will begin on December 15, 2022, and continue until a suitable candidate is found.
