Investment Associate


Cadence Financial Group, an Independent Financial Services office of Raymond James Ltd., is seeking a qualified Investment Associate to work in our downtown Vancouver office.

As an Investment Associate, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our office and assisting the overall management team while ensuring a high level of quality service.

You will ensure that all administrative and operational tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

This role is right for you if you are a self-motivated individual with exceptional administrative and organizational skills, are reliable and highly efficient with a focus on client service, and strive in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the team and interact with Raymond James backoffice in order to facilitate client support and to ensure efficient operations;
  • Complete documentation such as client account opening, tax packages and portfolio reports;
  • Foster and support client relationships by liaising with clients;
  • Support clients' general daytoday administrative and trade requests in a timely and confidential manner;
  • Schedule appointments and meetings, and maintain calendars for Cadence team members;
  • Complete bookkeeping tasks for various advisors;
  • Ensure client communications, interactions and records are accurately recorded in CRM according to industry standards and compliance;
  • Create and maintain filing systems, both electronic and paper;
  • Manage and maintain office supplies and ensure the office is tidy/presentable,
  • Assist in coordinating company events and meetings;
  • Assist in various marketing initiatives and planning;
  • Prepare client presentations with guidance from Cadence team members;
  • Conduct market research; and
  • Support other staff members as needed,

To qualify, you must possess:

  • Superior customer service skills and experience,
  • Experience working in the investment/finance/banking industry,
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook),
  • Experience with contact management software (i.e. Maximizer),
  • Excellent written and communication skills,
  • The ability to handle confidential information,
  • The ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a professional and friendly manner,
  • Strong organizational and problemsolving skills,
  • Meticulous attention to detail and being a selfstarter,
  • Experience with Quickbooks or interest in bookkeeping tasks would be an asset,
  • Experience with Croesus and Dataphile would be an asset,
  • Experience in event planning would be an asset; and
  • Canadian citizenship and permanent residency.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

  • Postsecondary education;
  • A minimum of 2 years of industryrelated experience; and
  • Experience in the investment brokerage, financial services, banking, or accounting industry is an asset.
Licenses/Certifications

  • The following would be considered an asset and factored into the base salary:
  • Investment Representative licensing, including the successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practices Handbook; and
  • Registered Representative licensing, including the completion of the Wealth Management Essentials Course, is preferred.
  • Additional assets: Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and LLQP Insurance License.
  • This is a fulltime position.
  • Extended health and dental benefits will be included after three (3) months probation period.
