Overview

Job Duties:

  • Oversee all aspects of a variety of given projects.
  • Prepare estimates for both private jobs & government tenders.
  • Read plans and implement them on the jobsite as required, communicate any issues with drawings in a timely manner to the appropriate parties.
  • Monitor & Manage projects as they are ongoing to ensure benchmarks, goals and budgets are met.
  • Collaborate and form relationships with all project stakeholders to ensure jobs are completed efficiently.
  • Produce a master schedule at the beginning of the season and adjust accordingly throughout the year.
  • Coordinate scheduling and communicate effectively with a variety of subcontractors as projects progress.
  • Produce purchase orders as required.
  • Ensure all job & scheduling requirements are met, this includes staffing, equipment, material & health and safety requirements.
  • Perform site visits as required making sure all job requirements are being met and the jobs are progressing smoothly.
  • React promptly and efficiently to any unforeseen circumstances.
  • Act as a liaison between site crews and upper management as required.
  • Ensure foremen/site supervisors have everything they need to complete projects safely and effectively.
  • Produce budgets and monitor project costing.
  • Solicit quotes from a variety of suppliers throughout the bidding process to achieve the best possible pricing.

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • Minimum 5 years work experience in a project management/supervisory role in heavy civil construction.
  • Asphalt experience is an asset.
  • Civil Engineering Diploma/Degree is an asset.
