Keeping Ontario's Legislative Assembly running smoothly takes many talented people, doing many different jobs—from camera operators and committee clerks, to purchasing officers and researchers.

The Legislative Assembly of Ontario seeks a self-motivated Project Manager who, as part of our Portfolio Management Office, in Toronto, ON, will provide project management in the development and implementation of technology and information systems.

What You'll Do:

You'll act with integrity to:

  • Work collaboratively with internal clients and external contacts
  • Demonstrate sound judgement, tact, discretion and sensitivity to the political environment, as well the ability to work quickly and under pressure

You'll support our collaboration as you:

  • Lead, coordinate and manage all phases of the projects related to information management and information technology initiatives
  • Plan and lead Technology initiatives ranging from large multiyear projects to small enhancement or upgrades initiatives
  • Ensure that Assembly resources are allocated appropriately to complete and sustain initiatives over the long term
  • Balance the needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders

How You Qualify:

You demonstrate excellence through your:

  • 5+ years project management skills, specific to information management and technology projects with 3 years of experience in managing technology projects in a matrix environment. Preferably experience with waterfall and/or agile methodologies and knowledge of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Certification in a recognized project management methodology, i.e. PMP
  • Postsecondary education in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Sound knowledge of strategic business planning processes and practices
  • Superior organizational, planning and coordination skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and communication skills

  • The Office of the Assembly is currently in a flexible workplace pilot program. The program permits employees in certain positions to work up to a maximum of 2 days per week for some of their regular scheduled hours from a mutually agreed upon location away from the office without compromising the efficiency and effectiveness of the Office of the Assembly business or overall service delivery. Employees that are able to participate in the program understand and agree that they must be available, when requested, to be onsite as required and, as such, are required to maintain proximity within commuting distance in Ontario from the Assembly's formal place of business at the Legislative Precinct in Toronto, Ontario. Employees may be required to return to work in the Legislative Precinct fulltime as deemed by the Assembly._
