We're on the lookout for a Manager, People, and Teams to join our dynamic team.

Salary: Starting salary for this role ranges from $77,000 to $82,400. Consideration will be given to candidate experience when determining the starting salary.

Location:

The selected candidate will primarily work at our Aurora Office in Aurora/Newmarket, with potential for variations based on operational needs. This role involves travel within York Region & South Simcoe for various purposes like group facilitation, client meetings, and training sessions.

This position will report to and be supervised by The Director of Operations.

Direct Reports:

The Manager, People, and Teams will oversee around 20 to 25 direct-service staff across multiple programs, occasionally providing supervision to volunteers or students.

Job Profile:

The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, leadership, supervision, and development of staff using empowerment and skill-building approaches. Collaborating closely with a Dyad portfolio and Human Resources, they attract, hire, and retain qualified individuals. Ensuring that service delivery aligns with provincial legislation is a crucial aspect of the role.

As part of the CMHA York Region's management team, the Manager contributes input and recommendations to enhance processes, quality, and operations across all programs.

This position provides guidance and support to staff through individual and team meetings, identifying performance issues, training needs, and advancing individuals within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Designations, and Certifications

  • A three-year Bachelor's Degree in Health or Social Services is required (relevant diploma holders with additional experience may be considered).
  • Ideally, a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Registration in good standing with specified professional colleges is mandatory.

Prior Work Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years leading work teams and supervising/managing staff.
  • 5+ years supervising a team is an asset, especially with more extensive experience.
  • Previous experience in a not-for-profit or mental health setting is advantageous.

Knowledge

  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of mental illness continuum and service delivery field.
  • Knowledge of formal services, informal supports, and systemic issues related to mental health.
  • Familiarity with Recovery principles and empowerment-oriented practices.
  • Understanding of youth mental health services and diversity issues.
  • Knowledge of employment-related legislation.

  • Coaching, mentoring, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Additional Requirements

  • Possess a valid Canadian driver's license and adequate insurance.
  • Obtain a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening or Police Check.

Working Conditions

  • Desk work using a computer for up to 7 hours daily.
  • Standard office environment with occasional evening/weekend work.
  • On-call responsibilities as needed.
