Client Profile

Our client, a reputable Toronto firm is currently looking for a Litigation Legal Assistant. This firm has an excellent culture and a lot of career development opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal administrative support regarding litigation matters;
  • Schedule meetings and conferences;
  • Draft/edit correspondence and legal documents from precedents and/or dictation;
  • Manage calendars and dockets for lawyers;
  • Assist in preparation for hearings/trials;
  • Liaise with Billing Coordinators for the monthly production of accounts;
  • Schedule examinations for discover, mediations and court appointments;
  • Prepare and maintaining a bringforward system;
  • Maintain electronic filing system;
  • Liaise with the courts and clients;
  • Manage workflow of files from beginning to end; and
  • Additional tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of experience supporting legal professionals in a corporate work environment;
  • Law Clerk Diploma from an Accredited Institution;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft (Word, Outlook, and Excel);
  • Preparation of documents connected to the litigation process considered a strong asset;
  • Experience with Worldox and Soluno is a definite asset;
  • Accounts preparation considered a strong asset;
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal;
  • Solid attention to detail and time management skills;
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team; and
  • Ability to prioritize and meet urgent deadlines;
