JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Properly receive and process human remains and ensures that the cremated remains are returned to the authorized person(s) according to company procedures and applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations.
Duties must be performed in a manner consistent with company mission and values, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Cares for deceased in a respectful manner while performing all the tasks involved in the cremation process
- Receives remains and ensures all documentation is complete and visual identification of the deceased is complete and accurate.
- Completes all required documentation with respect to cremation process and equipment maintenance
- Adheres to all professional, municipal, provincial and federal licensing authority regulations applicable to the cremation of human remains
- Adheres to all applicable policies and procedures
- Maintains all Company logs/reports
- Maintains all chain of custody paperwork
- Promotes a safe work environment by being aware of and practicing universal precautions and adopting general principles of safe conduct
- Other duties as directed by management
- Repetitive and highly detailed work attention to detail is key
- Frequent pushing and pulling of over 100 pounds
- Must be able to lift 100+ pounds
- At least 90% standing
- Very hot temperatures, often exceeding 100 Fahrenheit in the main working area
- Sweeping of cremation units with an ambient temperature of 650+ while wearing heavy and heat resistant gear
- Consistently high volume exceeding 86 decibels; hearing protection required and provided
- Eye protection required and provided
- A respirator (provided) must be worn when processing cremated remains. It will be properly fitted to provide a tight seal this is a health & safety requirement. You would be properly fitted during your first week.
- Composite toe work boots (provided) must be worn at all times
- Operation of hydraulic lifts and gas powered machines (training provided)
- Proper personal protective equipment will be provided and must be worn when handling decedents
- A valid driver's license is required.

- Excellent attention to detail with a consistently high level of accuracy.
