We are currently seeking a full-time Data Engineering Architect to join our Technology team.

As a Data Engineering Architect, you will support the development and enhancement of our advanced data platforms, applying innovative technologies to RPIA's portfolio management process.

Reporting to the Head of Technology, you will work closely with product owners, financial engineers, and software developers, serving as a bridge between the business owners and the engineering team.


The duties and responsibilities of the Data Engineering Architect include but are not limited to:
Designs and leads the implementation of data solutions that align with RPIA's long-term architecture and technology strategy, driving the evolution of our modern data platform;
Engages in the full development lifecycle of our portfolio management software from requirements analysis to implementation and monitoring;
Continuously explores new technologies and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and capabilities of our data systems;

Leads a dynamic team of software developers and data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaborative innovation.

Conduct comprehensive code reviews and provide insightful feedback to promote technical excellence;
Cultivates strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of technology and business strategies.

Technical Knowledge – Profound knowledge in data architecture, real-time analytics, and cloud computing platforms, especially within financial services.

Attention to Detail – Meticulous attention to precision in data handling and system design to ensure the integrity and reliability of our data platforms.

Problem Solving – Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges and innovate solutions.
Communication – Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Teamwork – Strong aptitude to work well with others and support a thriving, team-first culture.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of and experience with real-time analytics, persistent data stores, data modeling techniques, and adept data pipeline management.

Proficient in various programming languages (Python/C#/Java) and adept with tools required for developing complex APIs and executing streaming or real-time data processes.

Familiarity with relational, non-relational, streaming, and event-based architectures: practical experience with connecting AzureSQL/MySQL/Kafka/Redis is essential.
Experience with Cloud computing platforms and toolchains with big data analytics (e.g. Snowflake, DBT, Tableau Prep), with practical experience in integrating cloud services with conventional hosting/delivery models is considered an asset.

Knowledge of data engineering & computing services within Azure's ecosystem (ADF, Gen2 Datalake, Azure Data Fabric & Databricks integrations) would be highly valued.

Knowledge of the Financial Capital Market domain, particularly Fixed Income, would be highly valued.
Previous progressive leadership roles demonstrating both project and team management skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with the talent to clearly articulate technical concepts and encourage constructive dialogue within the team.
