Responsibilities:
- Ensure cost-effective manufacture of components to the required standards and company objectives
- The machining of components to specified drawings while maintaining quality and efficiency
- May require overtime and shift work as decided by the department management
Knowledge & Skills:
- Must be willing to work in and participate in safety conscious environment
- Must be motivated and have good communication skills
- Candidate must have a positive attitude with the ability to work well with others and on their own
- Produce quality products based on engineering drawings with minimal defects
- G code and conversational programming
- Familiarity with Mazatrol, Fanuc, Heidenhain and Fagor control is advantageous
- API/Grant Prideco rotary shoulder connection experience is an asset
- Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and asset
Education:
- Must be registered in a post-secondary Machinist training program
- Registered Journeyman Machinist is considered an asset
- Equivalent recognized training
Experience:
- CNC Lathe and/or Mill experience is required
- Familiarity with Gibbs Cam software is a desirable asset
- Experience with oilfield, automotive, or aviation manufacturing in a service/jobber shop environment is an asset
