Both our Bridgewater and Waterville, NS plants are seeking experienced production management professionals to join their growing teams.

The opportunity


As an Operations / Production Manager, you will guarantee and drive the collective performance to achieve important goals in safety, machine availability, quality, delivery and cost established with the plant management team.

You will manage and mentor salaried personnel and have indirect wage reports of up to 250 that have responsibility for meeting safety, quality and delivery targets within the workshop.


What you will do:

- manage a team of up to 250 indirect reports including salaried support staff in a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week manufacturing facility;
- monitor and manage daily performance, and set mid/long term strategic direction in line with company objectives;
- establish and lead the cost control budget;
- mentor a team and promote employee development;
- demonstrate passion for continuous improvement in safety, production, compliance, maintenance, and employee development/mentorship; and,
- provide team communication on company, plant, and department business plan objectives and performance.

What you will bring:

- a bachelor of engineering or equivalent is required, an MBA is considered a strong asset;

  • 5 to 10 years of progressive management responsibility in a manufacturing environment;
- demonstrated leadership presence;
- the ability to learn quickly;
- outstanding judgment and ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic setting;
- analytical problem-solving skills with an outstanding attention to detail;
- strategic vision with the ability to implement;
- strong leadership skills with the ability to empower and influence others positively;
- curiosity and willingness to challenge self and others to higher levels of performance;
- great organizational change skills;
- geographic mobility to most Michelin sites within Nova Scotia and the US (South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, Kansas, Iowa and Indiana); and,
- willingness to relocate internationally for a potential short-term assignment.
