We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our team as a Casual Support Worker in our Residential Services in Moose Jaw.


Please note:
Supports are provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Shift Work is required, including both day and night shifts.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with other staff to facilitate meaningful, highquality individual and group activities on a daily basis for adults experiencing disability, providing opportunities for community connections, personal development, and recreation.
  • Contribute and review personcentred plans to ensure the goals of the individuals served are being met.
  • Promote independence, selfesteem, and inclusion in the areas of selfcare, communication, recreation, socialization, and participation.
  • Provide supportive assistance to ensure the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of the individuals served.
  • Provide supervision of the individuals served while participating in community and/or home activities.
  • Provide transportation for the individuals served to community activities.
  • Promote, instruct, and model acceptable social behaviour.
  • Maintain according to agency standards including completion of Incident Reports, contact records and file recordings.
  • Maintain records including attendance, goals, and communication books.
  • Administer all areas of personal care, as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the home including kitchen and washrooms daily.

Qualifications:

  • Disability Support Worker Certificate (Rehabilitation Worker Certificate) or Life Skills Coach and/or related training and experience working with individuals of varying abilities and behaviours.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and a reliable vehicle.
  • First Aid and CPR certification; knowledge of lifting techniques and transfers.
  • Effective time management, organization, and problemsolving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, openminded, and creative.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to express ideas and information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
