Appropriate Housing Matters is a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to maintaining and expanding affordable, socially responsible, and suitable housing options in our region. Established in 1972 as a result of Co-op Atlantic's social initiative, our organization operates under various brand names such as PJWM, APHL, APHL Services, Peoples Park Tower, among others.
As a reputable name in the housing sector, we take pride in offering a diverse range of housing options in well-maintained, well-managed, and secure environments. We redefine the concept of 'affordable' housing to ensure our residents have the right housing solutions.
ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking an experienced and dedicated Vice President (VP) of Financial Services to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the company's financial plans and policies, focusing on optimizing growth and development.
Key responsibilities of the VP of Financial Services include:
- Act as a financial advisor to the CEO;
- Lead strategic financial planning efforts;
- Oversee budgeting processes;
- Manage all aspects of accounting operations;
- Handle responsibilities such as risk management, investment strategies, and overall financial health tracking.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Direct reporting to the CEO;
- Collaboration with the Senior Management Team;
- Establishing relationships with external partners and lenders;
- Managing financial projections and borrowing arrangements;
- Providing internal financial reports.
Other duties and requirements:
- Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations;
- Demonstrate expertise in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and CMHC procedures;
- Effective leader with strong change management skills;
- Maintain open communication with the CEO and Accounting team members;
- Lead special projects;
- Collaborate with senior leadership to achieve targets.
As the VP of Finance, you will have a crucial role in shaping our company's financial strategy, overseeing operations, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Your leadership and business development skills will drive growth opportunities and teamwork across departments. Working ConditionsPhysical effort: Minimal exertion
Physical environment: Varied, primarily office-based

Transportation: Occasional travel within NB and PEI regions
