Wilson's Lifestyle Centre is a large retail garden centre with departments in pets, plants (annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs, tropicals), gardening supplies, landscape supplies, home décor, equestrian, café, garden furniture, barbecues/smokers, gourmet food, and jewelry.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Three years' experience in visual merchandising
  • Three years' experience in management within a retail position
  • Capable of creating and analyzing sales reports
  • Ability to multitask and effectively delegate and follow up
  • Ability to provide stability and motivation to staff
  • Ability to learn extremely quickly
  • Ability to perform manual labour
  • Must be physically fit and hard working
  • Must be very organized with a high attention to detail
  • Experience in managing a large retail organization
  • Experience buying of various products
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of computer networks
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to be creative with displays to showcase our product
  • Meet critical deadlines in a fastpaced work environment

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing and motivating staff to increase sales and ensure efficiency
  • Assist in managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control
  • Dealing with staffing issues: interviewing potential staff; conducting performance reviews and providing or organizing training and development
  • Involved in marketing decisions
  • Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met
  • Responding to customer complaints and comments
  • Creating and receiving purchase orders
  • Dealing with suppliers and negotiating pricing
  • Manage operational inventory of store stock
  • Collaborate with team to develop merchandising solutions
  • Have a vast knowledge of all in store product

$22.00-$24.00 per hour
