We are seeking an experienced Automation Architect to join our dynamic team for a 7 week term with the possibility of becoming permanent. The Automation Architect will play a crucial role in for preparing test automation solutions, designing automation frameworks and lead the implementation of automation strategy, planning, and execution.

Qualifications
  • Computer Science degree, Engineering degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 12+ years of experience as a Software Quality Assurance Analyst
  • 8+ years working in Test Automation
  • Experience with automation tools (Selenium, QTP/UFT, Tosca, Playwright, etc)
  • Experience with Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab, etc)
  • Experience with Test Management tools such as Zephyr, ALM/QC, JIRA, qTest
  • Experience in API testing (ReadyAPI, Postman, etc)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience having designed and implemented test automation frameworks
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to propose practical solutions to complex problems
  • Experience in Containerization and Orchestration: Docker/Kubernetes
  • Flexibility, self-motivation and the ability to give and receive feedback at all levels
  • Adaptable and willing to work through challenges with a positive attitude
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships in a team oriented environment

Experience in the following will be considered an asset:

  • Programming languages: C#/Java/JavaScript/html/CSS/Json/Python
  • Engines or frameworks: Node Js, Spring Boot
  • Code management / Build tools: Git - Gitlab / Jenkins / Maven
  • Frameworks: Selenium - Selenium JS - Webdriverio / Appium - Protractor - Cucumber
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Docker/Kubernetes
  • Testing & work methodology: BDD, TDD, CICD
  • Data: SQL / PL-SQL developer
  • Concrete experience practicing BDD testing with Gherkin/Cucumber, API testing with SOAP and RESTful components.
  • Continuous integration, build automation, & deployment
  • Agile practices and tools
  • Enterprise integration patterns using REST, modern Web & Mobile technologies

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic orientation for the test automation discipline
  • Build strategic communication on test automation strategy, KPI/ROI framework, implementation roadmap
  • Set direction for short and long-term automation objectives pertaining to SDLC phases
  • Bridge the gap between testing disciplines, development teams and operation teams
  • Bring in depth knowledge of multiple open source/commercial tools for Web/Mobile/Services automation
  • Develop and maintain applications using C#, Java, Spring Framework, Oracle, XML, JSON, JUnit, and JavaScript libraries
  • Design and plan processes around CI/CD, Dev Ops adoption and operationalization
  • Bring hands on competencies around DevOps, Continuous Testing, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Serve as an expert in defining and rolling out standard Automation Frameworks, in line with latest industry trends
  • Bring experience software quality best practices, test strategy and planning, test case development, test case execution, deployment and, test data, defect tracking, and test automation
  • Supports Junior to senior automation analyst in automation script development and optimization of those test scripts.
  • Recommends new tools, techniques and methodologies needed to enhance productivity and quality across project/product
  • Evaluate, select and formulate best usage of test automation tools and future alignment for different products and applications.
  • Develop automation strategy to support regression testing based on the technical analysis, complexity and reusability
  • Oversee technological execution of the recommended automation solution roadmap across project teams
  • Participate in Design and Architectural reviews of proposed automation solutions across project teams and to provide long term vision for the automation solution
