About the role:
The Director of Major Projects is accountable for delivering results for this project on time, cost and quality in accordance with company requirements. They will manage all activities and internal/external resources of this project, meeting or exceeding the expectations of our clients. The project involves installing a new range of value-add products. To achieve these objectives, the Director of Major Projects will be involved in the project from the Technical Review Phase (FEL3) and will be responsible for managing and coordinating all the following project processes: Execution Phase to completion of the Close Out Phase, ensuring a safe and effective transition.

The main responsibilities of this position include:
• Lead, engage and define roles of project collaborators including multi-disciplinary teams, suppliers, affiliated engineering firms and subcontractors;
• Identify priorities, communicate them and regularly present the progress reports to the leaders of Global Management Capital group with key performance indicators (KPIs);
• Ensure implementation and adherence to security plans and training developed for contractors and participate in security reviews and audits;
• Ensure construction activities are conducted safely, efficiently, cost-effective, and in accordance with quality requirements;
• Adhere to budget, design plans and schedule based on identified deliverables, costs and resources;
• Assess threats and opportunities in estimates and allocate the appropriate contingency in estimates;
Assess proposed changes based on criteria such as project objectives, costs, schedule, threats and opportunities.

What you can bring to the role:
• Education & background in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Metallurgical Materials Engineering or a concentration in Industrial Project Management;
• 10+ years in manufacturing including 5 years on major projects ($50M CAD and more);
• OIQ Accredited
• Ability to build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships
• Ability to communicate with project stakeholders in English and French;
• Influence and motivate multidisciplinary teams,
• Strong understanding of computer technologies;
