Company Overview: Adecco has partnered with a paving company in the GTA to hire multiple experienced asphalt labourer/rakepersons to join their crew for the 2024 season.

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Asphalt Labourer/Rakeperson to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in assisting with asphalt paving operations, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and layout of asphalt surfaces prior to paving.

  • Operate hand tools and equipment such as rakes, shovels, and tampers to distribute and compact asphalt materials.

  • Work alongside paving crew to ensure smooth and even application of asphalt.

  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on paving equipment as needed.

  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and team members.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as an Asphalt Labourer or similar role in the construction industry.

  • Knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and equipment.

  • Ability to operate hand tools and equipment effectively.

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work in a physically demanding environment.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.

  • Safety certifications such as WHMIS, First Aid, and Traffic Control would be considered an asset.
