The Executive Council Office is the centre of excellence for the Government of Yukon. We are leaders in the modernization of government standards and processes. We provide central strategic advice to advance government priorities through policy development, communications, intergovernmental relations, Indigenous relations, major project management, youth initiatives, Indigenous and scientific knowledge and by supporting the Water Board and the Commissioner’s Office. We also provide direct support to the Premier and Cabinet.

The opportunity…

This position is part of a central agency team that supports other departments in bringing forward significant policy and legislative initiatives to Cabinet and its Committees. You will provide critical policy analysis and advice on a wide range of issues, both during the development and final decision-making phases. You will also lead and contribute to strategic corporate projects as well as key departmental initiatives. You will analyse government initiatives and provide the Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet with concise and essential information to inform decision. You will support capacity building in the policy community through delivery of learning sessions. You will also support the public service and government through transitions of government.

We are looking for an exceptional Cabinet Analyst that can learn quickly, communicate clearly and effectively, and is an excellent team player.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Three or more years experience providing advice and recommendations to executive management on complex and/or sensitive issues.
  • Practical understanding of government decision-making processes, including as it relates to policy-making and legislative development.
  • Experience maintaining positive working relationships, especially when providing constructive feedback and challenging advice.
