Job Description

This is a temporary part-time assignment for approximately twelve (12) months.

In 2015, Bridgepoint Active Healthcare, Circle of Care, Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute and Mount Sinai Hospital, came together to form Sinai Health System – and leverage our collective expertise and create a system that better responds to the changing needs of our patients, families and clients. Sinai Health has a bold vision and strategy for the future: To create Canada's leading health system pushing the boundaries to realize the best health and care for complex patients. A key enabler of this vision is Sinai Health's People Plan – which provides an explicit commitment to our people about our commitment to creating a workplace culture and environment that is safe, caring, equitable, compassionate and accountable in order to ultimately provide optimal care to patients and their family caregivers.

To support us on our journey, Sinai Health System is looking for a Registered Nurse to support our Special Pregnancy Program - Fetal Medicine team at our Mount Sinai Hospital Campus.

The program is a collective service that provides fetal ultrasound, assessment, detection, in-utero therapy and treatment with the goal of optimizing the health of the fetus and mother. The program offers expertise in fetal anomalies and in-utero surgical intervention through its partnerships with Sickkids & Sinai Health System. Early detection, surgical consultation and intervention is provided to improve long-term neonatal outcomes for conditions including but not limited to preterm birth, fetal anomalies, placental health, and infectious diseases.

The RN is responsible for coordinating care, developing complex care plans, performing complex fetal sonography (including abdominal, TVS and dopplers), assessment and interventions and assisting with fetal procedures, while supporting and teaching families. The nurse is also involved in obtaining obstetric/fetal ultrasound monitoring for both inpatients and outpatients within the Women's & Infants' Program (Triage, Labour & Delivery, Antenatal Unit, etc.). Additionally, nurses are engaged in program planning, quality improvement, education, and professional development activities within the program.
