Reporting to the Corporate Actuarial Reserves' manager, you will play a key role in mandates related to data used to evaluate actuarial reserves. You will be the guardian of data quality and build databases that are at the heart of stimulating projects, within a department that is critical to the proper functioning and operation of DGAG. Your team spirit will allow you to thrive by collaborating with multiple teams within the organization, such as the pricing and finance teams. You will be required to :
  • Work with the Business Intelligence specialists to prepare and validate data for critical actuarial analysis
  • Build and automate standardized data to be used for the various analyzes of the team
  • Advise on potential solutions for various data management-related issues
  • Communicate data management needs and process steps in non-technical language
  • Develop or improving existing processes
  • Be responsible of certain monthly / quarterly data requests for the Finances department and the financial governance

What you bring to the table
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, actuarial science or a related field
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Experience in working across big or complex data sets in a statistical or analytical role
  • Experience in database concepts; data integration including validation, design, and architecture
  • Relevant P&C insurance experience
  • Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec
  • Advanced proficiency in English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
  • Mastery of data validation techniques, data architecture, integration, and governance
  • Mastering in SAS, VBA and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of basic actuarial reserving and P&C financial concepts
  • Knowledge of SQL, R and other programming languages
  • Knowledge of ResQ reserving software
  • Expertise in working with structured and unstructured data
