Reporting to the Service Engineering, Project Engineering Maintenance Manager, the Lead Vehicle Maintenance Engineer role is to ensure that the customer's operations and maintenance mission are well supported, investigated, and provided solutions to their car availability issues to support Ontario Light rail fleet under maintenance service. The Lead Vehicle Maintenance Engineer will also act as Alstom's representative in the customers facilities and will assist the various internal teams with issues related to maintenance and on-site coordination of project-related activities and during design reviews when requested, for Finch LRV and Eglinton LRV.

You'll be creating great value as you use your engineering skills to maximize performance and reliability from a maintenance perspective while working on Light Rail transportation projects.
Well look to you for:
Leading the transition between OEM vehicle delivery and the readiness for entry into service.
Manages the technical performances of the systems and provide REX to relevant Services Platform.
Optimizes the scope and related tasks of the Maintenance plan.
Detects, defines, propose, and implements the modifications of the maintained products to improve the reliability and serviceability, in order to reduce project costs and improve the performances of the systems.
Support overhaul activities as part of maintenance plan
Lead the engineering activities with regards to obsolescence and collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts.
Support review and analyze vehicle variation orders.
Maintaining the Configuration and Design Change Management of the Project.
Supports the Product Safety management system ensuring safety risks are mitigated.
Captures and ensures ownership of regulations and standards to be applied.
Interfaces with the stakeholders in the Certification processes.
Develops and assure updates the work instructions and processes from the maintenance plan and maintenance manuals.
Analyses the technical performances of the systems and the efficiency of the maintenance plan and processes, promoting action plans to improve them.

Bachelors degree in engineering or related field.
5 years experience in engineering related field combined with experience in the field of public transit vehicles in a manufacturing and/or maintenance environment.
knowledge of transit railway workshops and operating environment with respect to processes, procedures, and safety.
Experience in managing multiple projects, tasks
Good knowledge in the following areas: electromechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Good knowledge of reading the mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
