About this opportunity:

This intermediate-level position entails working independently with minimal supervision, focusing on optimizing wells, associated equipment, pipelines, facilities, and/or plant operations in a safe and efficient manner. The role involves providing direction to contractors in the area, managing call-outs independently, and identifying opportunities to reduce callouts while achieving established objectives within budgets and in compliance with company policies and government regulations.

The working area for this role will be Wapiti oil battery and associated field, strictly managing pumping and flowing oil wells and treating of oil for sales quality product to be shipped through Pembina system. Additionally, solution gas compression sales to CNRL Wapiti system will be part of the responsibilities. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter willing to stay engaged and learn from other workers while maintaining respectful communication with colleagues and leaders.

What you'll do:

  • Adhere to company Vision, mission, and values for guidance.

  • Demonstrate safety leadership for self and team members and supervise contractors effectively.

  • Participate in ERP exercises and respond using ICS; attend Oil Spill Exercise Training as required.

  • Optimize production while managing costs and identifying improvement opportunities.

  • Operate, maintain, start up/shut down, troubleshoot, and optimize wells, equipment, and pipelines.

  • Troubleshoot Compression and manage call-outs efficiently.

  • Perform new well start-ups and assist in new facility start-ups.

  • Utilize IOC for improved Direct Operating Efficiency, collaborating as necessary.

  • Contribute to safety planning, work plan development, and peer review processes.

  • Understand shut down keys, P&ID's, safe operating limits, and Measurement requirements, ensuring compliance.

  • Understand cathodic protection systems.

  • Initiate safe work permits and hazard assessments.

  • Understand MOC/RIK process and PSSR requirements.

  • Input downtime coding accurately.

  • Record timely and accurate production data, reviewing for precision.

Who you are:

  • Grade 12 diploma is a requirement.

  • Valid class 5 drivers license with a current drivers abstract.

  • First Aid, H2S Alive, TDG, WHMIS is preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years experience is preferred.

  • Oil and gas treating and compression experience is an asset.

  • Experience directly applicable to the position is an asset.

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
